AAAND just like that, we're already on the second month of 2018! I have a strong feeling that this year is going to blaze right through us like the last one did. Before we get into this blog, just a quick reminder to savor every moment of it, even if it feels like you're caught up in a whirl of events. Take it all in and live in the moment. Be present, and in the midst of confusion, know that these moments of highs and lows are all fleeting. So with all of your being, experience it. Be aware of the speed at which you're running and love every part of it as it passes. xx
Now that I've established that, let's go back to what went down during my last event at the studio! Last Friday I teamed up with E! to bring together a class for Revenge Body with Khloe Kardashian, hosted at my home studio Polecats Manila. Together with 6 instructors on my team, we taught a full house of 25 students of different levels, a new record for us at the studio! The energy was through the roof, as everyone started working on their individual drills after the warmup together. We've had quite a mix, ranging from first timers who have never tried pole in their life, to more experienced aerialists who have been with us for years now. We even had a guy! Every singe one of them braved through the Ortigas traffic on a Friday night to celebrate love and movement, and all the beautiful things our body can create. Aside from the fun that inevitably ensued having a full room of people, all participants received goodies from Revenge Body with Khloe Kardashian which includes this cute top that everyone wore to class!
As an instructor, you'd think that you'll eventually get used to being at the receiving end of such energy. But the truth is that it never gets old. It is still as overwhelming as the first time you stood in front of a crowd of expectant students, waiting to know more about what they can do. The responsibility is great, and if it matters to you, you should also know that there is no money in choosing to become a teacher. But what it lacks in those things, it makes up for in spirit. There is so much to gain in character, and respect for the strength that your heart can endure. There is much you will learn in terms of your body, and all the other bodies that you will encounter in your career. I am so grateful for events like this that support our humble cause to share, and continuously learn.
Watch the highlights of the class in my latest YouTube episode. You can view the link to the video down below. Big love to E! and Revenge Body with Khloe Kardashian for making this happen. Also, special thanks to G Active for keeping me, and the entire class hydrated all throughout the session.
I can only hope to inspire people to find their own strength. Even if it's just for one single person, I'd still choose this path. :) That's all for now! Til next time!
